Equipment
- Tripod: You need to take the pictures from the exact same place. An alternative to this is a time-lapse rig (you can buy it or make it yourself), to create motion time-lapses.
- Camera: there are cameras with a built-in time-lapse function. If not, do not despair; it is more usual to use intervalometers, which are remote shutters that you can program to shoot a picture every certain amount of time.
- Entertainment: if you plan for a long time shooting, you will need something to pass the time. If you plan for night shooting, be careful with the light sources. If you use a headlamp to read, you will interfere in the picture. The same goes with any electronic device (smartphones, laptops, tablet computers...)
- Food and drink: mainly warm drinks (coffee, tea, cocoa). Night time is usually cold time, and you do not want to miss your shots because you were thirsty or hungry
- Clothes: think where are you going, think what clothing you will need, and add an extra layer, just in case.
